Local option, known in Oklahoma City as MAPS, funded the city’s revitalization efforts in the 1990s. As projects emerged, private funding flooded to Oklahoma City, and it quickly became ranked as the #1 place in the U.S. to start a business. Voters have continued to renew the funding for three decades.
